Without the help of many committees and volunteers, the town of Richibucto would not be in a position to offer the range of activities and services that it does. One of the town’s most important partners is without a doubt the Richibucto Recreation Committee. Since it started, in 1985, this committee has always been very active in the region. It is the organization that, every year, presents the Fitnik, which is always celebrated on New Brunswick Day, in August. Throughout the day, people can be entertained while listening to music and eating great hotdogs offered free of charge by the Richibucto Fire Department. The committee always plants a tree and recognizes a citizen for his or her dedication to the community.
The Recreation Committee also organizes the Christmas Parade. The activity is quite popular with the residents as well as those of nearby communities. It starts off at the Cartier Co-op, through Rankine Street. It then heads toward Main Street to end up in the parking lot of the Catholic church.
The members of the Recreation Committee work hard to ensure activities run smoothly. Thanks to their efforts, they are a real success.
